Cupcakes Galore!

I decided to make some knitted cupcakes for my new cake stands, so I set to work with the cupcake pattern from One Skein by Leigh Radford. Initially I didn’t find it a total ‘piece of cake’ (excuse the pun) because knitting in the round and decreasing into a circle is not easy with fluffy novelty yarn, but eventually I really got into it and discovered how stupidly satisfying they are when finished! Seriously, they are oddly addictive. I put it down to the fact that if, like me, you enjoy baking, this is a way to admire your work for a lot a longer…Here is my first attempt:
Having knitted four of the cupcakes according to the pattern, however, I decided that while cute, they were slightly mushroom-like. So I set about trying to make a more cupcakey-cupcake, and eventually I produced this cupcake pin cushion for my friend Nicky for her birthday.
First: For the base, I did just plain knitting for the first two rounds and then began the rib. For the top, after round 6 I did a round of plain knitting and then the final row (row 7) of decreases. These mods meant that the top of the cupcake base/paper (the green bit) was a touch wider than the bottom of the base/paper and the topping/frosting (the white bit) raised up a little in the centre. I also knitted the top with two strands of yarn, one thick fluffy yarn and one fine knobbly green one (which was the same colour but not the same yarn as the base), giving the frosting a two-tone look.

Second: When stuffing, I put lots of stuffing in the bottom of the base/paper and as I got to the wider part at the top I sort of pulled the stuffing apart a few times width-wise to take advantage of the wider top. I also put a dollop of stuffing on the top of this to take advantage of the way the topping stood up, and then I sewed it together. I then made the whole cupcake slightly damp by wetting my hands and I molded it into shape, making the very bottom narrow and the top full.
Last but not least I put pins in it and wove a little ribbon in and out at the top - without pulling it too tight - and put it in a cake box!

Spiral Rib Bag in One Day!

Tempted by several Super Bowl Sales in a number of local yarn shops (and I did go to one to buy yarn for my husband's requested vest), I decided that what I really needed to do was delve into my stash and use up some of the single skeins I've bought at previous Super Bowl Sales and never used.

Last year, I bought a skein of Lamb's Pride Bulky to pair with a single skein of Patons Glittallic that I had gotten from a swap pal. I had the intention then of making the Spiral Rib Bag from One Skein. Never even started, this project was forgotten as others took its place. Now I pondered doing baby hats for Afghans for Afghans (which I may still do), but I looked at the Spiral Rib Bag pattern again and decided to give it a try. I knit with these two skeins held together, and since both are bulky weight, this made for a tight, sturdy fabric. The bag is big enough to use as a sock project bag, it's really cute! The Glittallic is completely used up and the Lamb's Pride is now a little oddball.

Mission accomplished! It's great to finish a project in ONE DAY! Now, back to Lizzy and my socks. The sock weight yarn and size 1.5 needles feels sooooo thin and tiny after the double bulky weight bag!

Cup Cake

I made this lucky 7 cup cake for my grand daughter Noelle's 7 th Birthday, she told me "honestly" she was playing soccer with it!!! Good thing it wasn't a real one.Her dad thought it was the letter V for our last name Vitiello, I guess it's how you look at it.

My First One Skein Project

Well, I bought the book as soon as I saw this blog. I also joined the blog right away. But then it sat on my shelf for a long time while other projects took precedence.

I have finally completed my first One Skein project! I did the baby hat in Patons Soy Wool Stripes yarn in Natural Violet.

I absolutely loved working with both the pattern and the yarn. I followed the sizing for newborn, even though this is a worsted yarn (#4), not DK or light worsted (#3) as called for. It might be a bit big on a brand new baby, but not for long. I also made one in Bernat Satin Solids in Spring (a light mint green). I like the pattern so much that I'm working on a matching baby sweater using the umbrella pattern of the hat. :)

Fingerless garter mitts completed

I finished these a while ago as a gift for a friend but am only just getting around to blogging about them.

This was my first time knitting with Koigu and I fell in LOVE! It was such a pleasure to knit with, and to see the various colors passing by. I definitely recommend this pattern as a quick easy knit - the dropped stitches add interest to both the process and result, and they make great for gifts.

I've made 5-6 of these in the past year and the Baby Bolero is one of my favorite gifts to give to the new mother. It is easy to put on, washable, and ultra soft. It is perfect in all ways. I even tell the moms that after baby grows out of it they can put the sweater on a teddy bear. These two are ready to wrap up and send out.

I've
been thinking about how to make the basic bib more basic. The
challenge then was how to sit down, finish the bib and not have to go hunting
for buttons or decide what color buttons would look best, sewing that button on
the bib, and, in the end, how to put a little more LIFE into my bibs. I can't be
the only one who has noticed it's similarity to the humble cloth used in either
the kitchen or bath. With this twist on the design, I think I may have come up

I have made (what feels like) a thousand of the bowls already, and am starting on the Baby Bolero. I have two to knit, and am using two different yarns - the first one will be in the baby blue Cotton Ease, and the second in creamy white Pima Silk. Pictures soon!

Bath Puff

Here's my very first bath puff, made from a handpainted wool/hemp blend yarn. The most exciting part of this project for me was that it's the very first actual "something" (as opposed to just "practice," read "crap") I managed to make on my antique circular sock knitting machine. It took about 5 minutes for me to crank out the 2 feet of tubular stockinette -- less time than it took for me to do the finishing work! This was so much fun, I think I'm going to make bath sets for all the women in the family for Christmas.

Baby boleros for twins

I recently finished these baby boleros, with matching hats, for twins using Rowan All Seasons Cotton. I made some modifications to the pattern such as grafting the shoulder seams and working the sleeves in the round from the shoulder to the cuff.

A wee little jacket!

A finished baby bolero! The color in the second photo is closer to the actual color.

This was done in Blue Sky Alpaca Cotton, although I used the Dyed rather than Organic. This was so fun! I did the pattern without the motif. It was an easy, quick knit. The yarn is unbelievably soft and was really a pleasure to work with. If it weren't so expensive, I would run out and buy a bunch to make a top for myself.

And the recipient of the baby bolero, an acquintance whose baby shower I went to today, seemed to like it quite a bit. Success!

tank top

i knit this ages ago but never had good natural light to take pictures.
it's my take on the tank top in the oneSkein book.
what i kept is:
the construction idea of the tank with the seam in the back
the decreases for the armholes and the neck
what i changed is:
the yarn is aurore from phildar, it's fine mohair that i used double stranded.
even though i used the tinier size i made the armholes much longer in cms.
i knit a huge heart in intarsia in a rusty color.
the front is not stitched together instead, the heart is like chipped and i created zigzags with buttonholes at the angles.
i did not do the crochet finishings, i did selvage stitches on the sides and to not have ladders at decreases i used a special technique so the edges were very neat already.
i used natural shell rust color buttons to close and open so it's more of a vest now, i can wear a T underneath.

all in all, i found the armholes in the pattern not roomy enough to my taste in the tinier size which by the way is still too big although i wear size S.
i very much like the visible stitching in the back, it definatly creates an eye catcher for an otherwise too simple tank.
i so love my heart addition to the pattern.

The only problem with the felted bowls from the book is that they're addictive. They are so quick to knit and they look so great. These were for a friend who did some great design work for me pro bono. The yarn is Cascade 220, held double stranded.

Petal Bib in Debbie Bliss Cotton DK

A quick and fun knit! The Debbie Bliss cotton was not too stiff or rough on the hands, I enjoyed knitting with it. I messed up the first few times when hiding the wraps on the purl side, but I think it turned out well otherwise. I still to give it a good blocking.

Fingerless garter mitts in progress

I see no one here has posted on the fingerless garter mitts. This is the first project I'm knitting from this book, at the request of a friend, and I am loving it!

I'm using Koigu Painter's Palette Premium Merino in p115 and it is gorgeous. I knit most of the project in one weekend (the photos above are obviously early on in the process) and then slowed waaaaay down to savor those last rows of garter - which other people have complained about. Knit in KPPPM they are not tedious at all!

I have finished all the knitting now... just need to do the seaming.

Spiral Rib Bag

I finally found my spiral rib bag. It had become a sleeping bag for my little one's Snap N' Style dolls. Here it is.

I knit this just after the first of the year, so I can't remember what needles I used. The yarn is Gedifra Aragona in green. It was kind of splitty, but I love the color...and it was a clearance yarn at the LYS. So, my question for you all is...what do you use this bag for. I love it. But nothing will really fit in mine...I was thinking of using it to wrap a small gift. KM

Here's my first contribution . . . my Petal Bib:This is actually my second Petal Bib, because I forgot to hide the wraps on my first one. It's still okay, but this one is better. I used Sugar'n Cream in Cornflower Blue. So sweet. It's going home to a brand new baby girl named Tessa.

Bolero for baby boy?

I am wondering whether the Baby Bolero is ok for a boy. What do you think? I love this pattern but worry that the bolero is too feminine for a boy. I am knitting for twins, a boy and a girl, and would like to make sweaters and hats in pink and blue. I have Rowan All Seasons Cotton in Soul (pink) and Iceberg (blue) that I plan to use. I have really been having trouble deciding on a pattern so your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Spiral Rib Bag

(I knit this last September but forgot to ever post it to the blog here - even though this blog is slowing down I still visit it for inspiration and I wanted to be sure to post everything I make from the book!)

This is the larger version of the Spiral Knit Bag, done with a double strand of a nubby silk & wool from Fleece Artist on 6mm needles (they don't make this yarn any more, unfortunately).

It was a quick and easy knit. I think that double stranding the handpainted yarn muddied it a little too much, but it was fun to do and I still love the colours.

Small Spiral Rib bag

I used Moda Dea's Cartwheel. The bag is very little, about 6 inches high. I think it will be nice for holding my keys, license, debit card, and cell phone when I go out with my children.

Bobble Clutch

At the yarn shop I work at, Knit Picky, we have decided to make a bunch of the projects from One Skein and create our own little trunk show using yarns we sell. My first project was this cute crocheted Bobble Clutch. I lined it and put in a zipper and its great! It used just a tiny bit over one ball of yarn so I am thinking about using the rest of the yarn to make the circular little purse in the same section.

Tuscany Cable Footsies

I just finished up my cozy Cable Footsies in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Tuscany colorway and absolutely love them! They were so warm and cozy, I wore them around the house all day yesterday.

Yet another clutch

I finished yet another clutch today. It's for my friend's birthday. I hope she likes it. I made it out of Reynold's Lopi (the purple one with the button). I must say that I really prefer it to the last one I made using KnitPicks Wool of the Andes Bulky (the tan one without a button). The clutch is bigger and more trapezoidal.

I received the One Skein book for Christmas and I'm quickly working through the patterns. I've made 2 Asymetrical Cable Caps, 2 Cupcakes, a spiral rib bag, and I'm ready to start a bowl. I'll take pictures of the bag soon...but the others I gave away before taking photos. I seem to do that a lot. I only saw one stash bag in the old posts. Has anyone else tried that? I'm trying to knit from my stash...and still be able to knit gifts...this looked fun. Kristen

Hi! I am actually making something from the book One Skein right now! I went on vacation for a weekend expecting to knit a pair of cable footies. Did that happen? No. I read two books, and my dad spent to much money on me, and I bought three stuffed animals, but did I knit? Nope. So, when I got back home I picked up my knitting and am working on a pair of cable footies. I neglected them, and have now picked them up again. I am also planning on making a hat and cravat set. Or maybe just the hat! lol.

Baby Bolero

This is my first One Skein project and I absolutely love it! My friend is going to coo at this little diva bolero! The baby is due in April. This is also the first garment I have attempted so I was somewhat nervous about attaching the arms and completing the edging...Well, I got over it and it turned out sooo beautifully. Now all of my co-workers are requesting a bolero for their granddaughters, nieces and etc....We'll have to see about that! Anyway, I used the Mission Falls 1824 Cotton (http://www.missionfalls.com/home.php in color 206 peony). This is the perfect baby shower gift....This little one will have a great introduction into the world and a great start to being a beautiful DIVA (Dynamic.Intelligent.Vivacious.Amazing)!! my first felted bowls

I have been admiring all the wonderful felted bowls that everyone has been posting for ages but only just got around to making my own. I found a big bag of Lopi wool in a charity shop last week and decided it would be ideal for this project. So, not only are they great, they were also a total bargain. I have loads of the wool left and plan to make some more - it was a really fun project. I am using the smaller pink one to hang my earrings around, which is handy and looks cute.

I know this is a one skein project but to be half way finished is a bit amazing for me. I know I crochet pretty quickly but this seemed to go a lot quicker than I had anticipated. I'm glad though because I can start another soon. ;D I've even gotten used to using the cotton and there is no longer pain in my left hand. I also didn't realize these mats are not that big. They are very decorative though and I can't wait to make more in wonderful colors and the idea by Nana to use worsted weight yarns.

Anywhoo, here is my half done pic and I'll post more on my blog. Hope everyone else is doing just as well.

Hi! I have been knitting and crocheting stuff from One Skein! I have lately made a wonderful pair of the cable footies and have had requests made for two more pairs from people at my church. I love mine! I made them with some cornflower blue wool that I have had for a couple of years. I am going to have to make another pair from the same yarn. I am also making three of the square bags. I am using up a bunch of my Sugar n' Cream. I would make the bathmat for my bathroom, but I don't have enough, When my yarn diet is over, I will have to buy some cotton to make a bath mat!

Bath Mat Progress

As you can see from the pic above, I've begun my bath mat. It is crocheted with 2 strands of the cotton which is something new to me. I am going slowly because my hands are not use to the pressure created by the hardness of the yarn. I like the pattern and the work so far but I can see now that I will only be able to do a few rows at a time in order to have a nicely worked mat in the end. I've added at least 4 more rows since I took this pic and I can see how nicely it will look. I'll keep you posted on my progress. (I'll try to take a better pic too)

Btw, has anyone else ventured to do the Bath Mat?

Newbie & 1st Project

Hello,

My name is Dawn and I am new to the group. I love the One Skein book and am very glad to find a group to share with. I haven't done anything from the book yet but have been wanting to do something for sometime. My oldest daughter did the Rectangle Bobble Bag and is in the process of making another. She made the first in one day and uses it as a cosmetic bag. ;D

I am planning to make the "Bath Mat" on p75. I've purchased Peaches & Creme in Ecru, see pic below, along with some cotton to make washclothes to match. I will post a pic once I get started and let you know how I'm progressing.

Stop by my blog anytime to check my progress, I've got several projects going at once which is something I've never done before. Its kinda fun and challenging to see what will finish first. I've also noticed it keeps me from getting bored. Thats a definite plus for me especially since I usually don't do any crafts when it gets warm out ~ I'd rather be outside. However, today, I took my knitting outside w/me and it was very relaxing. Who knew?! ~ at least not me. :D

i knit a cupcake from "Oneskein" for Chris as a valentine present. gave it to him at the restaurant at dessert time. i don't think he "got it", he just went on to plush it, tried to open the topping "lid", searching for something to do with it.
luckily, he did get a heart box he could open, it's got rolled love messages for 365 days from the link for hearts, down below; this one he "got".
i think i want to make more cupcakes and get fancy yarn for the topping. i do hate fancy yarn but it does seem the appropriate yarn to use for the topping over the more quiet mohair wool blend.

Another Cowl

I was so inspired by miss ewe's cowl, that I had to go an make one of my own. It's made with (1 1/2 skeins of) Mission Falls 1824 wool in color 017. I didn't gauge and it tuned out a bit big. But, that's OK because my husband is a larger man (not fat, just larger).

I have more pictures on my blog. I also finished a clutch out of KnitPicks Wool of the Andes Bulky that I'm going to felt tonight.

Cowl!

This is my first post here, though I joined a while ago.
Bit late on this, it was a Christmas present (I also posted about it here), but meet Gaitor from the cable quartet.

one day + one skein = one cowl

It was knit with Misti Alpaca in worsted, and although the alpaca doesn't show of the cables very well, it is the softest thing EVER.
I'm never quite happy with ribbed cast-offs. I did a sewn bind-off here, and as you can see it is not quite tight enough. Still, the flare works well to sit down over the collar-bone a bit, so I was still happy with it.

A friend has just announced pregnancy, so I predict a petal bib and maybe a bolero coming soon!

I'm so excited to be part of one skein this is my cabled footsies. The yarn was a delight to knit with and the pattern clear and concise. I'm pleased as punch .My feet are very happy.

I know many of you have moved on and are working on other projects, but I'll do my best to keep this KAL exciting and fun for you this year as the "newness" starts to wane... perhaps I'll work on a poll of favorite projects? Important update for all KAL members: This knitalong is now operated by the new Blogger. I thought I could put it off for a little longer, but when I logged in this morning I had no choice - blogger started the conversion on its own. The positive thing about this is that we'll be able to label our posts in the near future; soon we'll be able to see and sort every Cupcakes or Felted Bowls on one page (if I can ever figure it out)! The unfortunate change is that members will be required to convert to a new Blogger account to post entries here.

I just finished a couple of cupcakes for a pin cushion swap. I've discovered I'm not too fond of knitting with dpns. Just can't seem to get the stitches tight enough at certain points. Guess it just takes practice.

Scarves and Hats!!

I am knitting up some double cable scarves using Jiffy yarn (it takes about two skeins) and size nines for Christmas presents for this year for the men in my family! I am also knitting some lacy baby hats, using size five needles and Sapphire DK weight yarn. It is soooooo pretty! I love it! It is going into the box I have of baby items that I love that I will keep until I have a baby. A long time from now, since I am an early teen!

Double Cable Scarf

My scarf is much skinnier than the one in the book. I used size 7's & Rowan's "Calmer" cotton yarn. So very yummy. I highly recommend this yarn if you have never tried it. Incredible to work with & shows stitches
beautifully!
I purchased a single ball of this yarn from my LYS over the Summer because of the wonderful color and super soft texture and am now kicking myself I didn't purchase more.
Live & learn.....But now I have a lovely scarf, so can't complain too much.

Color Block Cardigan

I wanted to share a picture of the Color Block Cardigan I made for my niece for Christams. I made it out of Knit Picks Sierra. I ended up making the sleeves in the round. I also made a clutch for our secretary who is leaving this week. I made it out of Reynold's Lopi. This is a picture of it before it was shaved. I have some more pictures on my blog.

Help! With Felted Bowls

Hi everyone - New member BettyMPage is looking for advice on the felted bowls (she hasn't yet learned to post so I'm writing on her behalf). She writes: "I love the look of these bowls, but i'm having a really hard time making this pattern work. I cast on the right number of stiches, but it seems that my needles are too long b/ i can't seem to get the work to join. I've tried this pattern out several times, changing the tightness of my cast on, but nothing seems to work! Help!!" I haven't attempted the bowls pattern... does anyone want to chime in here?

Bowl me over

A belated post about some felted bowls that I have completed. A couple of them were gifted over the holidays.

Round 1: The first batch were knit with Lamb’s Pride Bulky or 2 strands of Cascade 220 on size 15 needles. I think they need felted a bit more.

Round 2: The second batch were knit with the wonderful private label yarn from Sit & Knit over in New Buffalo, MI. These were knit on size 10.5 needles. I love how they turned out & will definitely be making more of them with this yarn. These are much smaller than the first ones.

It was fun to look around the house to find assorted bowls to shape these against – I have some ideas for the next batch.

If you want a really quick & easy knit, try the candy wrapper sachets. I made several of them for my mother for a little Christmas and they are fun and rewarding to do. I used Rown 4 ply cotton for mine in a sage green. Chekc out the pictures on my blog.

Three felted bowls

I made one of the felted bowls (the dark blue one on the right) and liked it so much, I snapped off two more. I'm happier with the shapes of the two blues; I think I cast on too loosely on the pink one. Following splindarella's suggestions from November 2006, I used Paton's SWS doubled, and did 3 ridges of garter at the beginning to keep the top from rolling.

I made this hat for a girl I had knitted for before. A collegues daughter. I made her a cardi when she was born. We were horrified to learn this year that SY now 2.6 years old was diagnosed with Leukemia.
Consequently I made her a nice soft hat. The yarn has stretch so it also fits me only is short on me. I think it should fit her nicely, with room to grow. Yes, I had the right gauge…it's the yarn.
Both my son and I modeled this hat, but none of the photos came out clear and the one of me is warped. After photos were taken hat was machine washed, dried and wrapped.

Alpaca Double Cable

This was an early Christmas gift for my husband. We live in Florida, so there aren't many opportunities to wear scarves. (Especially now...we're in the 80's) The double cable was fun and quick with the bulky alpaca. Happy Holidays to all!

Gaiter

I knitted this gaiter using two strands of 4 ply wool that I had in my stash and it worked up really well and to gauge. The gaiter is a Christmas gift and I am pleased with how it looks. I have made quite a few of the items in One Skein and plan to make plenty more - everything so far has turned out great.

I recently finished the gaiter. I think it was Encore yarn that I used. I have been knitting on so many different gifts, and I lost the label. This gaiter was fun to knit, and knitted up quickly. Zigzag Scarf

I made this scarf using the skein of Kidlin Pixie that my One Skein Secret Pal sent me last summer. A laceweight blend of linen, kid mohair, and nylon, it's such a soft yarn, I had to use it for a scarf. The lace pattern comes from Interweave Knit's lace primer in the summer 2006 issue. Basically, I repeated the pattern a few times across and knit until the yarn was gone. It's 7 inches wide and 59 inches long.

hi there! i left you the whole weekend. i met laurel -her mate's name is Not hardy- an american in paris. she makes glass beads. hm, what did i make? oh i learned 3 crochet stitches... i totally learned crochet from scratch. wanted to make this ruffle scarf and i had no instructions for it but the ones done in crochet. so i gave in and looked for a diagram on "double bride" and here was i crocheting with my MIL's crochet.

by the way, she gave me all of her collection of needles one day, this summer.
my other two projects in crochet were: a "filet top" that i created, hope to learn how to upload photos fast in here so i can show you here.
i knit a potatoe chip for it since the ruffle scarf looks so much like potatoe chips... i thought i may be making another scarf sometime in yellow, what do you say?
i also crocheted and orange fish to hang down from the "filet top". after two froggings i finally got the hang of the "tail making".

so yesterday night i knit a headband-earwarmers to go with both ruffle scarf and filet top.

i've started a knit christmas tree, mine was blown by the wind and broken. i had put it outside to "embellish" the balcony and make space inside my tiny parisian appartment.

red velvet cupcake

It's my first cupcake! This one is a red velvet ornament and went in the mail this morning. It was so easy to make. I don't know why I've waited so long to make one. The bottom part was easy, but it took two times to do the top; to get it just right, and that was my fault for trying to use the same size needles as I did for the base. I overstuffed it a bit, too; looks like someone was stingy with the icing! I can't wait to make more. Making one is ALMOST as satisfying as eating a real one.

Super Silk Sleeves

This is the second pair of Silk Sleeves that I've made. I used Colinette Parisienne this time and it has knitted up beautifully into a light airy fabric. The colours are wonderful and it gives a totally different look from the solid colours of Kidsilk Haze. These took just two days to knit and are for a Christmas gift for my neice. I like this pattern a lot - a simple knit and a fabulous finished item.

Another Baby Bolero

I finished this baby bolero in about a weekend. It is for my best friend who's little boy is due early next year. I didn't post on my own blog in case she looks at it (even though it's in my gallery). I would definately make it again if the occasion arose. By the way, I love Blue Sky Organic Cotton yarn!

One Skein Hat

Here is the latest One Skein hat that I've made, it is for my son who is modeling it here. I added the stripes for some contrast and to match his baby kimono from the Mason Dixon book. It was my first time at stripes. I love this pattern but the depth should be a little more, at least it has needed to be for the people I've given them to. I really like this pattern it's pretty without being to girly, so little boys can wear it too. I used LB Microspun for my hats, the only problem with that is that it stretches out a little bit too much, but I prefer a hat that is a little loose over too tight and with a newborn with a head circ of 14 1/2" lets just say finding him a hat can be difficult. A toddler Jacket

Hi! I made a child's colorblock cardigan for my 22 month old daughter recently. I cast on on Halloween, and I finished it November 16th, so that didn't take too long at all! Of course I made her the tiniest size and even that was too big for her (my gauge was off and I didn't care enough to do anything about it because after all, she's gonna grow. Anyway, here's a pic of the sweater:

It's made out of Lamb's Pride Worsted, two strands held together, for all but the light green (kiwi) color which was some kind of Cascade something-that-started-with-P :). There's more information about the sweater in my knitblog, Knit Worth.

My daughter loves her "jacket" as she calls it and likes to wear it around the house for no particular reason. Oh, one thing that really helped me to finish it was the Keyboard Biologist's applied icord tutorial - I was lost without that. If anyone else is having trouble, check out her post on the topic!

Felted Bowl

Yesterday I decided to finish up some merino wool yarn I had left over. I was able to knit up the small bowl in about an hour. Felting however was not such a quick process. After three attempts I gave up on trying to eliminate the visibility of the stitches. I shaped the bowl around a ginger jar and was able to get in ridges, which you can't really see in the picture. I'm happy with my 1st attempt I will however try to find a yarn that will felt a little tighter.

This is the first thing I made from the book. I couldn't resist the urge to make the cupcake. Its too cute and called out to me... make me and scent me! So I did and it sits on the shelf behind me at work. People walk by and giggle when they see it. My boss said its her favorite kind. Calorie free.
