Crochet cap and ruffle cravat

These two crocheted up in no time at all - just a couple of hours really. The cravat was particularly fun to make and I am pleased with the result. I used the yarn recommended ( Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Superchunky) and found that the cravat took a bit more than one skein. I seemed to have the correct gauge but only got eight of the ten motifs out of the first skein. Has anyone else had this problem ? The hat was also very easy and quick. The modelled shot is a truer color.
I also made this skinny scarf yesterday . It is the One Skein Scarf from the Happy Hooker book. It took just over half a skein of Cygnet Aran so was a really economical knit. This is a really easy and effective pattern and I will be using it again. Great for using up odd skeins.

I was just looking at this cap and cravat in the One Skein book yesterday, and thinking I would like to make it. I like to switch over to a crochet project every once in a while for a change of pace. After seeing yours, I am sure I will be making them. I like the skinny scarf too - love making things out of odd skeins of leftover yarn.

Hi!

I was the technical editor for this book. According to my notes the sample cravat shown in the photos weighed 94 grams, which made it do-able with 100 grams of Cashmerino Superchunky.

I don't have any theories why your scarf (which is gorgeous!) came up short. If anyone else is interested in this project, the model scarf *was* made with less than a skein of the specified yarn, although it was a pretty close finish.

I've been wanting to make the hat. The cravat is fabulous and definately on my to-do list.

(Above was me. I can't type today!)

Your cravat and cap look great and I love the color. I was thinking about making this for my daughter and you made up my mind.

I guess my gauge must have been a bit off then. It wasn't really a problem - I love the finished results. The Cashmerino is certainly a beautiful soft yarn.

Hello Lizzy. I am currently having a gauge issue with the Ruffled Cravat. Can you tell me, if your scarf is still available, the size of a finished motif? What yarn and size hook did you use? Thanks in advance for your help.
